The southwest monsoon has intensified across Maharashtra, with the India Meteorological Department forecasting heavy rain and thunderstorms in Mumbai over the coming days. An 11-year-old student died and four others were injured after a roadside tree fell on a school bus in Mumbai's Chembur area on Tuesday. The bus was carrying 12 students when the tree crashed onto the vehicle. Local residents, the bus conductor, firefighters, and police rescued the children. "The student was declared dead at 4.23 pm," officials at Zen Hospital said. Four injured students are in stable condition. Authorities have started an investigation to find out why the tree fell.
