Two India‑flagged liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carriers — Jag Vasant and Pine Gas — have successfully transited the Strait of Hormuz, carrying a combined about 92,612 tonnes of LPG destined for India amid ongoing Middle East tensions. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Phase I of the Noida International Airport at Jewar, marking Delhi-NCR’s second international airport and a major infrastructure milestone. Built with modern, eco-friendly features, the airport initially has capacity for around 12 million passengers annually, expandable in future phases. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated Phase 1 of the Noida International Airport in Jewar. He said the project will improve connectivity and support jobs in Delhi-NCR and western Uttar Pradesh. The airport is built at a cost of about Rs 11,200 crore. It can handle 12 million passengers a year in the first phase. Modi said, “This airport will bring new opportunities for farmers, businesses and youth.” He also criticised earlier governments, saying the project faced long delays. An IndiGo flight from Visakhapatnam made an emergency landing at Indira Gandhi International Airport on Saturday after a suspected engine problem. A full emergency was declared on Runway 28 as a precaution. The aircraft was carrying 161 passengers. Authorities said the alert was received at 10:53 am, and emergency teams, including fire services, were deployed. The flight landed safely at around 11 am. At least five people were killed and several injured after a massive avalanche struck the Srinagar-Leh highway at Zoji La in Ladakh, burying multiple vehicles and blocking the strategic route. The avalanche hit vehicles at Captain-turn at Zojila Pass in Drass on Friday afternoon. Authorities said 12–15 vehicles were trapped under snow, prompting a large-scale rescue operation involving police, army, BRO, SDRF, and local administrations from Sonamarg and Drass. Over 100 personnel and heavy machinery were deployed, though traffic congestion hindered efforts from the Kashmir side. Officials warned casualties may rise as some vehicles remain fully buried. Rescue operations, ongoing for hours, are expected to continue further into the night ahead.

The Allahabad High Court has ruled that a married man living in a live-in relationship with an adult woman does not constitute a criminal offence under Indian law.
