The Centre told Parliament that it has not received any widespread or verified complaints linking E20 petrol to engine failure or vehicle damage. In a written reply to the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Suresh Gopi said, “No widespread or substantiated complaints” had been received. He said scientific studies and field tests found E20 petrol safe when used under prescribed standards. The government added that more than 20 crore two-wheelers and over 3 crore petrol cars have been using ethanol-blended fuel without verified major problems. Activist Sonam Wangchuk said he will continue his hunger strike until student leaders protesting the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak are allowed to meet Members of Parliament or MPs visit him in hospital. The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) submitted a memorandum to Union Minister JP Nadda during talks in New Delhi on Monday. The group made three main demands. Meta has gone on trial in the US state of Tennessee over claims that Instagram was designed to keep teenagers using the app for longer. The lawsuit says Meta ignored internal research showing possible harm to young users' mental health. It also claims features like Reels, autoplay and push notifications encouraged compulsive use. Meta denied the allegations. “We’ve spent a decade building safe, age-appropriate defaults for teens,” a company spokesperson said. Tripura Director General of Police (DGP) Anurag Dhankar was found dead in his office chamber at the Police Headquarters in Agartala on Monday. The 1994-batch IPS officer was rushed to Govind Ballabh Pant Hospital, where doctors performed CPR for nearly 48 minutes before declaring him dead at 12:48 pm. Officials said preliminary reports suggest suicide, but the exact cause of death will be confirmed after a post-mortem examination.
