The event turned emotional as Max’s handler, Head Constable Jagjit Singh, bid farewell with the words “Love you Max,” moving everyone present. Max, born in 2020, served nearly five years and played a crucial role in strengthening airport security with his vigilance and sharp instincts. Although trained dogs typically serve longer, he retired early due to serious illness. CISF personnel saluted his service, remembering his loyal contribution with pride.

Kolkata Police imposed prohibitory orders banning public gatherings across seven vote-counting locations following overnight tensions linked to alleged irregularities. Commercial LPG cylinder prices in India have surged past ₹3,000 after a steep ₹993 hike, taking the Delhi rate to about ₹3,071.50. This sharp increase—linked to global oil tensions and disruptions in West Asia—has triggered concern among hotels, restaurants, and small businesses heavily dependent on LPG. Industry bodies warn that higher fuel costs will likely be passed on to consumers through increased food prices. At least nine people have died after a cruise boat capsized at Bargi Dam near Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh following a sudden storm. Rescue teams recovered additional bodies on Friday, raising the toll, while search operations continue for missing passengers. Several others were rescued from the water. Authorities have deployed NDRF, SDRF, and other teams, along with heavy equipment, to retrieve the submerged vessel. Initial reports point to safety lapses, including delayed distribution of life jackets. Noida International Airport will begin operations from June 15, officials said. The airport is in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh. It aims to reduce pressure on Indira Gandhi International Airport. The project costs ₹11,200 crore. It will handle 12 million passengers yearly in phase one. Airlines like IndiGo, Akasa Air, and Air India Express may operate flights. A tigress and her four cubs have died within nine days in Kanha Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh. Officials said the deaths are under detailed investigation. Early findings suggest a possible infection from Canine Distemper Virus (CDV). The tigress, known as T-141, and her cubs were found in the Sarhi range. Three cubs were found dead between April 21 and April 26. The tigress and one cub were rescued but died later. An official said, “An in-depth probe is underway by veterinary and wildlife forensic experts.” Initial reports point to lung infection and breathing distress. Samples have been sent for testing. Prices of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders rose by Rs 993, reaching Rs 3,071.50 in Delhi. Five-kg mini cylinders also saw a hike of Rs 261. State-run Indian Oil Corporation said these categories form a small share of total consumption. Domestic LPG, petrol, diesel, and kerosene prices were not changed. The company said this was to “protect consumers” from global price swings. The increase may affect restaurants, hotels, and small businesses that depend on commercial LPG.
