Firefighters, aided by two vehicles, worked tirelessly to control the fire, which was extinguished by 2:30 pm. No casualties were reported, and ongoing cooling operations are in progress. Viral videos on social media captured the intense flames and thick smoke rising from the scene.

Gurugram Police has retrieved the body of 27-year-old ex-model Divya Pahuja from a canal in Haryana's Tohna. Pahuja was allegedly murdered under suspicious circumstances at a Gurugram hotel on January 2. A major breakthrough came after one of the accused, Balraj Gill, confessed to disposing of Pahuja's body in the canal. The police, aided by multiple teams and the National Disaster Response Force, successfully located and identified her. Earlier arrests include hotel owner Abhijeet Singh. CCTV footage captured the victim, Abhijeet, and another person entering the hotel on January 2, with subsequent footage showing them dragging Divya's body later that night.      

In West Bengal's Purulia, chaos erupted as a mob assaulted three sadhus from Uttar Pradesh heading to Gangasagar Mela. Suspected of being kidnappers, the sadhus, a father and his two sons, were attacked after inquiring about directions. Agitated locals accused them of kidnapping when three teenage girls screamed and fled. Police intervened, rescuing the sadhus, who had lost their way. Twelve arrests were made, and the accused will face court in Purulia. The West Bengal BJP condemned the incident, criticizing Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's silence and demanding accountability. The sadhus were later provided transportation to the Gangasagar Mela.

An IndiGo flight from Mumbai to Guwahati was compelled to make an emergency landing in Dhaka, Bangladesh, at 4 am due to dense fog preventing a safe landing at the Guwahati airport. Suchana Seth, CEO of an AI start-up, faced arrest for the alleged murder of her 4-year-old son at a Goa service apartment. Police escorted her to the crime scene for reconstruction of the crime after she initially denied involvement. Red stains in the apartment raised alarms, as Seth checked in with her son but left alone. Apprehended in Chitradurga en route to Bengaluru, she carried her son's body in a bag. A handwritten note in the bag revealed her objection to a court order allowing her estranged husband to meet their son. Seth attempted to hide the body, layering it with toys and clothes, later revealed during a police check.
