The house of Bharat Soni, arrested for raping a minor girl in Ujjain, will be demolished tomorrow by authorities as an illegally constructed dwelling on government land. Delhi Police have registered a case against digital media platform NewsClick under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) amid allegations of funding from China. The case stemmed from The New York Times' claim that NewsClick received funds from a network tied to US millionaire Neville Roy Singham for Chinese propaganda. Enforcement Directorate previously probed NewsClick's funding, revealing over ₹77 crore in foreign remittances between 2018-2021. NewsClick founder Prabir Purkayastha denied allegations, emphasizing independence from political influence.

Delhi Police head constable, Surendra, was arrested two years after allegedly killing a woman constable and concealing her body in an Alipur drain. Surendra, already married, forced the victim to marry him. When she refused, he strangled her in a deserted area and hid her remains in the drain, later covering it with rocks. He involved his brother-in-law, Rovin, in the conspiracy, who made misleading calls to the victim's family, claiming she was alive. The crime came to light when the family informed the police about the calls. Surendra, Rovin, and a friend, Rajpal, were arrested.

Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari announced the completion of the Urban Extension Road 2 (UER 2), the country's first elevated eight-lane access control expressway. The Special Cell of Delhi Police has captured a suspected ISIS terrorist, Shahnawaz alias Shafi Uzzama, a fugitive on the National Investigative Agency's most-wanted list. The CBI has arrested four people including two men and two women, besides detaining two girls, in the horrific Manipur case where photos of murdered students surfaced online. The accused were flown from Imphal to Guwahati. Those arrested have been identified as Paominlun Haokip, Malsawn Haokip, Lhingneichong Baite and Tinneikhol. One detained is the friend of the killed girl. A joint team of Manipur Police and Army captured the suspects from Churachandpur district. After apprehension, the forces swiftly took them to the airport for a flight with waiting CBI officials. The tense one hour wait at the airport fortunately passed off without untoward incidents.
