Indira Gandhi International Airport issued an advisory after a viral row over a stray dog named ‘Kaddu’. Social media posts claimed the dog went missing and was mistreated. The airport said many community dogs live at its terminals and are cared for under veterinary rules. It added that one dog removed earlier had shown aggression and bitten people. Officials reported 31 dog bite cases since January, with most involving staff. “Dog bite cases are a matter of genuine concern,” the airport said. Passengers were asked not to feed stray dogs and to report aggressive animals to security.

US President Donald Trump had been pushing for a ceasefire with Iran since at least March, a report said. The Financial Times reported that Washington quietly worked for a pause despite strong public threats.   Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir acted as a key link between the US and Iran. Rao Inderjeet Yadav, an Indian gangster and owner of a music company, has been arrested in Dubai, Haryana Police sources said. The accused had fled India after a 2024 murder case in Rohtak. Dubai authorities have sought documents for his extradition. His lawyer said he has not been arrested.   Police said over 15 cases are filed against him in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. He faces charges of extortion, fraud, and intimidation. The Enforcement Directorate is probing a money laundering case linked to him. Yadav earlier said he is a “victim of conspiracy” and “not a gangster”.

The Israel Defense Forces said it killed Ali Yusuf Harshi, an aide to Hezbollah chief Naim Qassem, in a strike in Beirut. The Israeli military said Harshi was the personal secretary and nephew of the Hezbollah leader. It said he helped manage his office and security. The Hezbollah group said it fired rockets at northern Israel. The group said the attack was a response to Israeli strikes in Lebanon. Around 1,600 tourists are stranded in Lachen in North Sikkim after a landslide hit the road to Mangan on April 5. Snowfall since April 7 has made conditions worse. The Indian Army started a rescue mission called Operation Himsetu. The Army said it is working to restore access and help tourists. “Troops have opened critical passes and activated alternate routes,” the Army said. Only about 150 tourists were rescued till Thursday morning. Rinam Lachenpa, a local resident, said an alternate route exists but takes longer and should be used as a last option. (PC: HT)

Saeed Khatibzadeh, Iran’s deputy foreign minister, said Israeli attacks on Lebanon broke the US-Iran ceasefire. The Iran official told the BBC the strikes were a “grave violation” and called them a “massacre”. Lebanon’s health ministry said 182 people were killed on Wednesday. The Iran official also said the Strait of Hormuz would reopen if the US stops its “aggression”. Donald Trump, the US President, said US forces will stay until Iran follows the “real” agreement.
