Hamas claimed responsibility for the latest barrage, part of thousands they have launched since October 7. Israel's emergency services said no injuries were reported so far. In Gaza, Hamas authorities reported over 7,000 Palestinians have now been killed, an increase of 500 since Wednesday, including more than 2,900 children. In the last 24 hours, Israel said it conducted 250 airstrikes targeting Hamas and has also conducted a 'brief' ground operation in northern Gaza, with tanks and ground forces as a "preparation for the next stages of combat." Meanwhile, 12 aid trucks entered Gaza from Egypt carrying supplies but not fuel, which Israel restricts. Only 74 trucks have been allowed in since October 21.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has urged Qatar to reduce the intensity of Al Jazeera's coverage of the Israel-Hamas conflict. Guterres condemned both Hamas's attacks and the long-standing grievances of Palestinians, stressing that the latter could not justify appalling terrorist acts.
