Iran’s navy has claimed it captured a US unmanned underwater vehicle near the entrance to the Strait of Hormuz during an intelligence operation. The IRGC-linked Sepah News identified the vessel as a Dive-LD and released footage it said showed the captured submarine. Iran also claimed its air defences shot down an MQ-9 Reaper drone in the area. The Pentagon said an underwater drone had malfunctioned during a regional survey but did not confirm it was the seized vessel, describing it as an older model without sensitive equipment. US President Donald Trump shared an edited video appearing to show King Charles walking away after an Asda worker collapsed during a 2020 visit in Bristol. However, the full footage shows Charles reaching out to try to catch the man before staying nearby while he received medical attention. The worker quickly recovered and later continued speaking with Charles. Trump’s three-minute Truth Social video contrasts foreign leaders portrayed as indifferent with footage presenting him as caring and supportive. The montage also features French President Emmanuel Macron and former US presidents Joe Biden and Barack Obama in unflattering scenes.

Prince George began his first day at Eton College on a rainy morning, arriving with his parents, Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales. The 13-year-old was welcomed by head teacher Simon Henderson and provost Sir Nicholas Coleridge before entering the historic school. George, who will live as a boarder, wore a jacket and tie during his arrival and was later photographed in Eton’s traditional black tailcoat, waistcoat and white collar. Russian attacks on food warehouses and logistics hubs across Ukraine are disrupting supplies in Kyiv, leaving gaps on supermarket shelves and threatening higher food prices. Ukrainian officials say logistics facilities serving major supermarket chains have been damaged in what they describe as a systematic attack on civilian supply infrastructure. The government estimates food prices could rise by 2.5%, while some businesses fear increases of up to 15% as companies reorganise supply routes. One warehouse near Kyiv reportedly lost €4 million in stock. Medical and humanitarian storage facilities have also been hit. Indian-American voters are showing a strong preference for Democratic candidates ahead of the 2026 US midterm elections, according to a national AAPI survey. About 66% of Indian-American respondents said they would support Democratic candidates in both House and Senate races, compared with 18% backing Republicans for the House and 22% for Senate contests. The survey covered 2,066 registered voters, including 242 Indian Americans. More than 90% of AAPI voters said they planned to vote. The Trump administration will ban imports of certain Canadian alcohol, dairy products and motor vehicles from September 29, escalating an 18-month-old trade dispute with Ottawa. President Donald Trump signed three proclamations moving selected Canadian products from the existing 50 per cent additional tariff regime to outright import bans. The restrictions came hours after Canada imposed retaliatory tariffs on about $20 billion of US goods, with duties ranging from 15 to 50 per cent. Washington accused Canada of restricting US alcoholic beverages, limiting dairy access and maintaining vehicle tariffs that disadvantage American exporters. Canada introduced its measures after negotiations failed, while Prime Minister Mark Carney said Canada needs to reduce dependence on the United States, its largest trading partner. (PC: Reuters) 

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed it seized a US unmanned underwater vehicle near the entrance to the Strait of Hormuz amid escalating tensions between Tehran and Washington. The IRGC said its naval forces captured the unmanned submarine during an intelligence mission. Iranian state media reported that the vehicle was delivered to the US military fleet in 2025 and can conduct underwater reconnaissance, map the seabed, detect mines and inspect submarine cables and pipelines. Iran said it would release photographs and video in the coming hours. The United States has not publicly commented. The seizure comes as Iran blocks the Strait, while Washington maintains a counter-blockade on Iranian ports. (PC: Reuters)
