Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates told a US congressional panel that Jeffrey Epstein may have tried to pressure him using information about his personal life. He said he met Epstein around 12 to 14 times for discussions related to philanthropy and potential donor connections.

A new book on US President Donald Trump’s administration has revealed a heated exchange between Trump and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick over tariffs imposed by India on American goods. According to the book, Trump believed India’s tariffs were far higher than official US government figures. When Lutnick presented data from the US Trade Representative’s office, Trump reportedly dismissed the numbers and accused officials of providing inaccurate information. Bangladesh is moving ahead with plans to purchase 24 Chinese J-10CE fighter jets, with the deal expected to be a major outcome of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s visit to China. West Bengal Leader of Opposition Ritabrata Banerjee has asserted that his faction represents the “real” Trinamool Congress amid an escalating internal battle for control of the party. Oman has announced a temporary maritime corridor for vessels transiting the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz after coordinating with the International Maritime Organization. According to Oman's state news agency, ships wishing to use the corridor must coordinate with the IMO and follow navigation coordinates issued jointly by the organisation and Omani authorities. The initiative is designed to maintain safe passage and ensure uninterrupted freedom of navigation through one of the world's most important energy shipping routes.
