Around 250 million bees swarmed into the air after a truck carrying approximately 70,000 pounds of active hives overturned near the Canadian border in Washington state. Authorities quickly warned the public to avoid the area due to the risk of stings. Over two dozen master beekeepers joined emergency teams in efforts to rescue and rehouse the bees. Officials said the bees are expected to return to their hives within 24–48 hours.
