The meeting is expected to pass a resolution congratulating Modi and discuss governance priorities, welfare schemes, infrastructure development and the ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ vision. The BJP has adopted a measured stance toward the growing protests led by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), a newly formed movement campaigning against paper leaks and examination-related controversies. The West Bengal CID on Tuesday visited former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's Kalighat residence, which also serves as the Trinamool Congress headquarters, and Abhishek Banerjee's office as part of its probe into the alleged forgery of TMC MLAs' signatures.   The investigation is linked to a proposal submitted to the Assembly Speaker seeking recognition of the Leader of Opposition. CID officials said the visits were based on Abhishek Banerjee's statement that the signatures were collected at the party's central office. The controversy has triggered a major political crisis within the TMC after rebel MLAs backed Ritabrata Banerjee over the party's official nominee, Sovandeb Chattopadhyay. (PC: India Today)

The Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Tuesday hit back at rebel MPs, with senior leader Kalyan Banerjee saying those who no longer support the party should step down. "If someone has differences of opinion with the party... and instead chooses to support someone else, then it is their moral responsibility to resign," he said.   Banerjee also praised former Rajya Sabha MP Sukhendu Sekhar Roy's resignation, saying he had "upheld ethical standards and political morality." He questioned the rebel camp's claim that around 20 TMC Lok Sabha MPs were ready to back the NDA, asking why the alleged letter to the Lok Sabha Speaker had not been made public.  

Kashmiri diaspora groups staged protests outside the Pakistani Consulate in Bradford, UK, after reports that at least 11 people were killed during security force action in Rawalakot in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (POK). Protesters accused Pakistani authorities of using excessive force against civilians.   At the same time, around 30 British MPs, led by Bradford East MP Imran Hussain, urged the UK government to intervene diplomatically over reports of arrests, communication blackouts and human rights concerns in the region.   The unrest is linked to protests demanding economic relief, affordable electricity and greater civic rights in POK.

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), a satirical student-led movement, has announced a protest in Pune on June 11. The demonstration will be held at Savitribai Phule Pune University at 4 pm. CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke is demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged irregularities in examinations and recruitment tests. The Pune protest will be the group's second major demonstration after a recent event at Delhi's Jantar Mantar. Dipke said the movement will remain peaceful and independent of political parties. A major political development unfolded on Monday as rebel Trinamool Congress MPs claimed that around 20 party lawmakers are forming a separate bloc and intend to support the NDA. Trinamool MP Sharmila Sarkar told NDTV that the group has decided to align with the ruling alliance and will formally communicate its position.   Senior MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar said nearly 20 MPs have agreed to write to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla seeking recognition as part of the NDA. She said the decision followed extensive discussions among MPs and described her removal as the party's chief whip as "arbitrary" and "unilateral". The Trinamool Congress (TMC), the party led by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, is facing a fresh internal crisis after around 20 of its MPs reportedly gathered at an undisclosed location to discuss forming a separate parliamentary bloc or resigning, according to sources.   The reported rebellion comes weeks after TMC's defeat in the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections, which ended the party's long rule in the state. The party has since faced growing dissent, with several leaders and legislators questioning its leadership and future direction.   Sources told The Indian Express that the MPs are exploring their options as unrest deepens within the party.
