The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is poised to request a 'Blue Corner Notice' for Prajwal Revanna, the Hassan Lok Sabha constituency candidate, amid allegations of sexual abuse. Explicit video clips circulating in Hassan have implicated the JD(S) MP, grandson of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda. A lookout notice was also issued against his father, HD Revanna, to prevent possible escape. As public outcry intensifies, 700 citizens have penned an open letter to the National Commission for Women, urging stringent action against Revanna. The state government has assembled a special team to probe the accusations.            

Former Delhi Congress President Arvinder Singh Lovely has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), days after resigning from his position citing dissatisfaction with the party's alliance with the AAP. Lovely, along with four other former Congress leaders, made the move in the presence of Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri. Criticizing Congress candidate Kanhaiya Kumar for praising Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Lovely highlighted internal discontent over candidate selections. In the 2019 elections, Lovely contested against BJP's Gautam Gambhir and AAP's Atishi but did not receive a ticket this time due to the alliance.            

In Odisha's upcoming Lok Sabha elections on May 13, out of 37 candidates contesting in Nabarangpur, Berhampur, Koraput, and Kalahandi constituencies, 17 are crorepatis, according to the Association for Democratic Reforms. BJP and BJD candidates, along with others, have assets exceeding ₹1 crore. The richest contender, BJP's Malvika Devi, holds assets worth ₹41.89 crore. Conversely, the poorest candidate, SUCI's Pramila Pujari, has assets of just ₹20,625. Educational qualifications vary, with 14 candidates having passed class 5 to 12, while 22 are graduates. Only seven candidates are female, and the age range spans from 25 to 70 years, with the majority falling between 41 to 60 years.

Hyderabad police have registered a case against Union Home Minister Amit Shah and several BJP leaders for allegedly breaching the model code of conduct during an election rally.
