The unprecedented "Burpee Marathon" was officially ratified by the World Book of Records, London, surpassing the prior mark of just 5.1 km by more than eight times. Held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, representatives from the record-body presented the certificate and medal to Sharma, citing this as the first-ever burpee marathon in history.
