Experts warn that such “sympathy-based conservation” can disrupt wildlife’s natural foraging, increase road dangers, and harm ecosystems. The sighting highlights both Ladakh’s rich biodiversity and the need for responsible wildlife interaction. 

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will launch the BlueBird Block-2 mission on December 24 at 8:54 AM IST from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota, using the LVM3-M6 heavy-lift rocket. The mission will deploy a 6,100-kg BlueBird Block-2 satellite developed by AST SpaceMobile, making it the heaviest commercial payload carried by LVM3 into low Earth orbit. The satellite is designed to provide direct-to-smartphone broadband connectivity, supporting global 4G and 5G services. Fresh violence in Assam’s West Karbi Anglong tribal council area left two people dead and 38 police personnel injured following clashes between protesters and security forces. Protesters reportedly set fire to several vehicles, escalating tensions in the region. The situation deteriorated during crowd-control operations, prompting concerns over law and order. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said he is closely monitoring developments and assured that additional security forces will be deployed to restore peace. Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav blamed the Congress era for illegal mining in the Aravalli Range. Speaking to India Today TV, he said, “All the photos being shown online are from the Congress period.” Yadav said miners worked for years and later abandoned sites. He added, “Out of 1,008 mines in Rajasthan, 700 were set up under Ashok Gehlot.” The minister said a clear definition of the Aravallis is needed to stop damage. He noted the Supreme Court of India earlier halted mining to protect the range.

India and Bangladesh summoned each other's envoys Tuesday over escalating tensions.
