Dubai-based drug trafficker Pawan Thakur, mastermind behind India's biggest cocaine seizure worth Rs 2,500 crore, has been arrested and faces deportation. Thakur orchestrated the smuggling of 82 kilograms of high-grade cocaine intercepted in Delhi in November 2024, routed through an Indian port before warehouse storage. Volcanic ash from Ethiopia’s Hayli Gubbi eruption has spread across several parts of India, including Delhi, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Punjab and Haryana. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said in the Assembly that singer Zubeen Garg’s death was not an accident but a “plain murder”. Garg, aged 52, died on September 19 while swimming in Singapore. Sarma made the statement during the Winter Session, after the opposition raised the issue through an adjournment motion.
