The U.S. State Department has approved a possible Foreign Military Sale to India worth $45.7 million, according to the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA). The package includes 100 FGM‑148 Javelin anti‑tank missiles, one “fly-to-buy” missile, and 25 lightweight command launch units, plus training, spares, simulation rounds, and lifecycle support. The DSCA says the deal would bolster India’s homeland defence and regional deterrence, while not upsetting the military balance in Asia. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has provisionally attached assets worth ₹1,452 crore linked to Anil Ambani in a major loan-fraud investigation. These include office premises, residential units, and land parcels, per attachment orders issued on October 31. The move comes amid a broader crackdown: total ED seizures in related cases have now approached ₹9,000 crore. Air India is lobbying the Indian government to request access to restricted military airspace in Xinjiang — including routes via Hotan, Kashgar, and Urumqi — to shorten long-haul flights and cut ballooning fuel costs. The push comes after Pakistan closed its airspace to Indian carriers, fueling a projected annual loss of US$455 million, exceeding its ₹ 439 million fiscal loss. A new US peace proposal would require Ukraine to give up territory and cut its army to 400,000 soldiers, a source told AFP. The plan also asks Ukraine to give up long-range weapons. Officials say the terms reflect Russia’s demands, which Ukraine has always rejected. The proposal surfaced on the same day a Russian missile strike killed 26 people, including three children, in Ternopil. Rescue teams searched collapsed buildings as smoke filled the area. In the ongoing investigation into the Delhi Red Fort car blast, authorities have uncovered alleged ties between Al-Falah University in Faridabad and Mirza Shadab Baig, one of the 2008 Ahmedabad serial blasts accused. Investigators say extremists linked to Baig had earlier collaborated with Al-Falah affiliates. The probe has widened: the Enforcement Directorate recently arrested Al-Falah’s chairman, Jawad Ahmed Siddiqui, for money laundering.  

Shubman Gill has been ruled out of the second Test against South Africa due to a neck injury suffered in the first match in Kolkata. In a major bipartisan move, President Donald Trump has signed legislation requiring the U.S. Department of Justice to release long-sealed files related to Jeffrey Epstein within 30 days. Passed overwhelmingly in the House (427–1) and unanimously in the Senate, the law mandates disclosure while allowing limited redactions for victim protection and active investigations. It explicitly bars withholding information to protect political figures or reputations. Trump, who earlier resisted such disclosure, said the release will reveal “the truth” about high-profile associations linked to the Epstein network. DOJ officials have begun preparing documents for public release.
