At least seven climbers, including five foreigners and two Nepalis, were killed after an avalanche struck Nepal’s Yalung Ri mountain in Dolakha district. A Bengaluru doctor, Mahendra Reddy, was arrested for killing his dermatologist wife, Dr Kruthika Reddy, using the anaesthetic drug Propofol. Weeks after the murder, police found that he sent chilling messages to several women saying, “I killed my wife for you,” through the payment app PhonePe. Entrepreneur Manish Wahie has warned that rude and entitled behaviour by some Indian travellers is harming India’s global image. “People have started judging us the moment we walk in,” said Wahie, who lives in Kazakhstan. Two US courts have stopped the deportation of Subramanyam “Subu” Vedam, an Indian-origin man who spent 43 years in prison for a murder he did not commit.
