Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Sunday shared a video of the grieving father of a NEET aspirant who allegedly died by suicide, renewing his attack on Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The father, who travelled from Gujarat, questioned the minister's reported remarks about protesters and urged him to "show them my son." The student allegedly died by suicide on June 18, days before the NEET-UG re-test. The Supreme Court on Monday declined to fast-track a batch of Public Interest Litigations (PILs) seeking a CBI investigation into alleged financial irregularities and misuse of public donations at the Ayodhya Ram Temple. A vacation bench of Justices M.M. Sundresh and Sheel Nagu said the matter would be heard after the court resumes regular functioning. Petitioners argued that electronic evidence, including CCTV footage and DVR records, could be tampered with if the hearing was delayed. Heavy rainfall has triggered flash floods across Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, affecting more than 22,000 people and causing widespread damage to homes, roads and farmland. Assam's Dhemaji district is the worst hit, while floodwaters have submerged 96 villages and damaged nearly 1,690 hectares of crops. A section of a railway bridge built in 1965 collapsed in Dhemaji, forcing the suspension of train services, though no injuries were reported. In Arunachal Pradesh, three people have died in rain-related incidents as rescue operations continue. Authorities have warned of more heavy rain, flash floods and landslides in the coming days.  

A 26-year-old junior doctor at the Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University (IMS-BHU), was found dead in his hostel room in Varanasi on Monday. The deceased, Ritwik Kundu from Hooghly, West Bengal, was pursuing his residency in the Department of Anaesthesiology. Police suspect he died after administering an overdose of anaesthesia drugs through an IV drip, though the exact cause will be confirmed after the post-mortem and forensic examination. A handwritten note apologising to his parents and requesting that no one be blamed was recovered. Police have launched an investigation into the case. (PC: India Today)
