Khalistani terrorist Inderjeet Singh Gosal was released on bail within a week of his September 19 arrest in Ontario, Canada. Gosal declared "India, I'm out" and announced plans for a Khalistan referendum on November 23, 2025, claiming "Delhi will become Khalistan." Pannun taunted Doval to arrest him in Canada or Europe. Gosal, considered Pannun's key aide and SFJ Canada organiser after Hardeep Singh Nijjar's 2023 killing, faced firearm charges alongside two others. President Trump announced 100% tariffs on all branded or patented pharmaceutical products starting October 1, 2025, unless companies build manufacturing plants in the US. Indian pharmaceutical giants faced sharp declines Friday morning as Cipla dropped 1.91%, Sun Pharma fell 3%, Dr Reddy's declined 1.50%, and Zydus Lifesciences plunged 3.22%. The White House has endorsed a proposal for former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair to lead a transitional administration in Gaza, known as the Gaza International Transitional Authority (GITA). This plan, modeled after international transitional administrations in Kosovo and Timor-Leste, would position Blair as Gaza's supreme political and legal authority for up to five years. Initially operating from Egypt, GITA aims to eventually enter Gaza with a UN-endorsed multinational Arab force. From October 1, 2025, the US will levy 100 percent tariffs on branded and patented pharmaceutical imports—unless the company is actively building a drug manufacturing plant in the United States. The exemption applies even to firms that have “broken ground” or are under construction. The policy also includes high duties on furniture and heavy trucks, sparking concern over its impact on global supply chains. Analysts warn India’s pharma exports could face significant disruption unless firms pivot U.S. investments quickly. 

A low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal is forecast to intensify into a depression, likely making landfall near the Odisha–Andhra Pradesh coast on September 27. Authorities in Odisha have placed 18 districts on high alert, deploying disaster response teams, canceling leaves for officials, and preparing rescue operations. The IMD has issued heavy to very heavy rainfall warnings, with thunderstorms and gusty winds expected in coastal and southern districts. Bengal, including Kolkata, is also bracing for rain spells, raising concerns of waterlogging and disruptions during ongoing Durga Puja preparations. The closed-door talks are expected to cover bilateral relations, trade, regional security and global challenges. Trump praised both Sharif and Munir as “great leaders,” reflecting a visible shift toward closer U.S.–Pakistan engagement.
