Delhi police have booked Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati, also known as Swami Parthasarathy, for molesting students at a private management institute. At least 17 students reported harassment, while others said they were forced to join him on foreign trips. Police said he threatened to withhold degrees if demands were refused. Three women staff members were named as accomplices. The Indian Air Force also flagged complaints. A lookout notice has been issued as the accused is absconding. An Indian man in California has been charged with murder after killing a registered sex offender. Police said 29-year-old Varun Suresh stabbed 71-year-old David Brimmer in Fremont. Court papers revealed Suresh had searched the sex offender registry and planned the killing for years. Disguised as an accountant, he went door to door before finding Brimmer. After stabbing him, Suresh told police that “all sex offenders deserved to die” and called the act “really fun.” Officers said he showed no regret. Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand will visit India in October for talks with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar. The visit comes as India and Canada try to rebuild ties damaged in 2023. On September 24, 2025, violent protests broke out in Leh, Ladakh, demanding full statehood and inclusion under the Sixth Schedule. Protesters engaged in arson, stone-pelting, and vandalism, targeting BJP offices and police vehicles. The Union Home Ministry attributed the violence to "provocative statements" by activist Sonam Wangchuk, who had been on a hunger strike since September 10. The BJP further alleged that Congress was behind the unrest, citing the involvement of Congress councillor Stanzin Tsepang in inciting violence. Wangchuk condemned the violence but emphasized that it stemmed from years of unmet demands and rising youth frustration. He called for a meeting with the Centre before October 6 to address the issues.

President Donald Trump alleged he was the victim of a "triple sabotage" during his appearance at the United Nations General Assembly on September 23, 2025.
