The program also includes a massive sterilization campaign and the first dog census in India. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested Karnataka Congress MLA KC Veerendra on August 23, 2025, following extensive searches across 31 locations, including Gangtok, Bengaluru, and Goa. India’s Department of Posts has announced a temporary suspension of most postal services to the United States, effective August 25, 2025, in response to new U.S. customs regulations.
