During a honeymoon trip to Meghalaya, Indore resident Raja Raghuvanshi was found dead in a gorge near Wei Sawdong Falls on June 2. His wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi, is accused of masterminding the murder with the help of her alleged lover Raj Kushwaha and hired contract killers. Investigators revealed she shared her location to coordinate the attack and tried to disguise the murder as a robbery. Initially reported missing, Sonam later surrendered in Uttar Pradesh after 17 days. The police have arrested five suspects linked to the crime, including those who allegedly executed the killing. Indore woman Sonam Raghuvanshi allegedly plotted her husband Raja’s murder just 3 days after their May 11 wedding. Police say she conspired with lover Raj Kushwaha, a former colleague, with whom she’d been in a secret relationship since 2023. They planned the murder over a 6-hour call on May 16. On their honeymoon in Meghalaya, accomplices Akash, Vishal, and Anand—posing as tourists—joined the plot. Raja’s body was found on June 2 near Weisawdong Falls. Sonam surrendered soon after. California Governor Gavin Newsom has filed an emergency court request to block President Donald Trump’s deployment of 4,000 National Guard troops and 700 Marines to Los Angeles for immigration raids. Newsom's move follows protests over mass deportations. He accused Trump of using troops to “stroke his ego,” calling the deployment reckless.
