India enjoyed a successful start to the New Taipei City Athletics Open as long jumper Shaili Singh and the women's 4x100m relay team won gold medals, while hurdler Tejas Shirse secured a silver on Saturday.   Shaili clinched the long jump title with an effort of 6.24m. The relay quartet of SS Sneha, Srabani Nanda, Sudeshna Shivankar and Tamanna clocked 44.07 seconds to win gold and equal the meet record. National record holder Tejas Shirse finished second in the men's 110m hurdles with a time of 13.58 seconds, just behind Chinese Taipei's Hsieh Yuan-kai. (PC: X)

  Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke said the movement over alleged examination irregularities will continue after a major protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar. Dipke demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and gave the government seven days to act.   He warned that if no action is taken, the protest will expand across the country. Thousands of students, parents and job aspirants joined the demonstration, raising concerns over issues related to examinations and recruitment.   A 28-year-old Indian man from Telangana was shot dead while delivering a pizza in Philadelphia, with his family alleging that the order was a planned trap. Anshul Kuncha, who worked for a multinational company, delivered pizzas on weekends for extra income.   According to his family, Anshul was called to a deserted location where he was shot multiple times before the attackers fled. They claim nothing was stolen, raising questions about the motive. The BCCI has made a special arrangement for teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi by allowing his parents to travel with him during India's upcoming tours. The decision comes after the 15-year-old earned his maiden call-up to the senior T20I squad.   According to BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia, the board usually does not permit parents to accompany players, but an exception was made considering Vaibhav's age and the fact that he will be joining an adult national team environment for the first time.   The board will bear the expenses of his parents, believing their presence will help the youngster settle into international cricket and provide him with emotional support during a crucial stage of his career. A 27-year-old Indian man, Pravna Bhatt, was caught by vigilantes in the UK while allegedly attempting to meet a 14-year-old girl he had been grooming online. Bhatt, residing in the UK on a post-study visa after attending the University of Leeds, admitted sending sexually explicit messages to the minor despite knowing her age. When confronted on camera, he pleaded for forgiveness saying, "Give me a last chance." He begged vigilantes not to involve police.
