A London-bound flight of Air India returned to Delhi on Thursday after flying for nearly seven hours. The aircraft was headed to Heathrow but turned back while over Saudi airspace.   The airline said the flight made a “precautionary return” due to a suspected technical issue. Sources said unusual noise was heard onboard.   The plane had taken off at 6.13 am and landed around 1.20 pm. It had already covered about 3,300 km before turning back.   The airline said the aircraft landed safely. “It is currently subject to extensive technical evaluations,” a spokesperson said. A Singapore court has ruled that Zubeen Garg died due to drowning near Lazarus Island in September 2025. The coroner called it an “unfortunate and tragic drowning.”   The singer had gone on a yacht trip and entered the sea. Witnesses said he had consumed alcohol before swimming. He wore a life jacket during his first swim but removed it later. He also refused to wear one again.   Friends asked him to return, but he became motionless in the water. He was pulled back to the yacht, but revival efforts failed.   A report showed high alcohol levels in his blood. Police found no foul play. (PC: NDTV)

Nayara Energy has raised petrol prices by up to ₹5.30 per litre and diesel by ₹3 across India. The move comes as global supply disruptions linked to the Iran-US conflict push input costs higher.   Sources said private retailers get no government support to absorb losses, unlike state-run firms. “Mounting losses have left them with little choice but to raise retail prices,” they said.   Prices now vary by state due to local taxes. Vijay Mallya said his early investment in Royal Challengers Bengaluru proved successful after the franchise was valued at Rs 16,500 crore. Sarah Mullally made history on March 25 as the first woman to become Archbishop of Canterbury. She was formally installed at Canterbury Cathedral before about 2,000 people, including Prince William and Catherine.   The ceremony began with her knocking on the cathedral door, following tradition. She said, “I am sent as archbishop to serve you.”   Mullally, a former nurse, succeeds Justin Welby, who resigned after an abuse scandal.
