Global oil prices fell on Monday after OPEC+ agreed to increase crude production from August. Brent crude dropped to around $71.55 a barrel, while US WTI crude slipped below $69. Belgium has appealed FIFA's decision to suspend Folarin Balogun's one-match ban before the United States' FIFA World Cup Round of 16 clash. At least 11 people were killed and 46 injured after Russia launched fresh missile and drone strikes on Ukraine's capital, Kyiv. Five children were among the injured. Officials said several apartment buildings were damaged, with rescue teams searching for survivors at more than 20 sites. Three more people died in the wider Kyiv region. The attack came days after another deadly strike and ahead of the NATO summit in Turkey. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky urged allies to speed up air defence support. Iran has thanked India for joining the funeral of late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In a post on X, the Iranian Embassy said it appreciated the support shown by the Indian government and people during the country's time of grief. An Indian delegation, led by Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita and Bihar Governor Syed Ata Hasnain, attended the ceremony. Several Indian political and religious leaders also paid tribute. Iran said the gesture reflected the strong friendship and long-standing ties between the two countries. Khamenei was killed in a US-Israel strike in Tehran earlier this year.

A 2021 NITI Aayog report has returned to focus amid debate over E20 petrol. The report shows the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) wanted E10 petrol to remain available during the shift to E20. SIAM said many older vehicles were designed for E10 and could face lower fuel efficiency, poor performance and possible compatibility issues with higher ethanol blends. It also warned that upgrading older vehicles would be difficult. However, the report said tests by ARAI, Indian Oil and other agencies found no major engine damage with E20.
