Around 97,000 Indians Nabbed Crossing US Border Illegally in 2022-23

Nearly 97,000 Indians were arrested for illegally crossing into the US between October 2022-September 2023, a five-fold rise in recent years per US Customs data. Most were from Punjab, Gujarat. 30,010 were caught at the Canada border, 41,770 at Mexico. Single adults make up the largest category. In fiscal year 2023, 84,000 Indian adults crossed into the US illegally.
