US National Security Council Spokesperson John Kirby has called the allegations made by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau against India "serious" and emphasized the need for a “transparent" dealing of the matter. Kirby urged India to cooperate in the probe. This development comes amid rising tensions between India and Canada following Trudeau's accusation that Indian agents were involved in Khalistani separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar's fatal shooting. Kirby also mentioned that the US would stay in touch with both countries and stressed the importance of a transparent handling of the sensitive matter.

The Indian government has issued a cautionary advisory for Indian nationals and students in Canada, urging them to exercise caution due to "growing anti-India activities and politically-condoned hate crimes and violence in Canada." Pannun's message raises concerns about radical pro-Khalistan elements harboring anti-India sentiments. The threats have stoked fears among Canadian Hindus of Indian origin about their safety. This raises questions if Trudeau will arrest Pannun after his provocative threats targeting the Indian community in Canada following the Nijjar controversy.

Australia has expressed concern over Canada's allegations that Indian officials were involved in the killing of a Khalistani terrorist. The country, a member of the Quad and Five Eyes intelligence alliance has raised the issue with its Indian counterparts. Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, chief of the banned Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), is at the top of security agencies’ radar after the recent deaths of three prominent pro-Khalistani terrorists. Pannun, facing 22 criminal cases in Punjab, is believed to be operating from Canada. Notably, Khalistani leader Paramjit Singh Panjwar, head of the Khalistan Commando Force, was killed in Lahore on May 6, while Avtar Singh Khanda, a Khalistan advocate, passed away from cancer in the UK on June 15. Hardeep Singh Nijjar, chief of the banned Khalistan Tiger Force, was shot dead in Surrey, British Columbia, on June 18. SFJ, founded by Pannun, has been linked to various extremist activities, including threats, attacks, and calls for referendums.

  Canadian authorities have been accused of harboring at least nine separatist organizations supporting terror groups, including pro-Khalistani outfits allegedly working at Pakistan's behest. India has reportedly submitted multiple deportation requests for individuals involved in terrorism and gang activities, but Canada has not taken action. These individuals include Gurwant Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Arsh Dalla, and Goldy Brar, among others. The separatist organizations have openly issued assassination threats, and the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala in Canada is cited as an example. The situation is seen as linked to domestic Canadian politics and support for pro-Khalistan sentiments among Sikh populations.

Dhesi mentioned that anxious and angry Sikhs from Slough and beyond had contacted him. He stated that they are working with the UK government to ensure justice. India rejected the allegations, calling them absurd and motivated. World leaders also expressed deep concerns over Trudeau's accusations regarding Indian government involvement in the shooting in British Columbia.
