The government has launched a fresh probe into Anil Ambani’s Reliance Group over alleged diversion of funds. The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has handed the case to the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) after finding signs of large-scale fund misuse. Companies under probe include Reliance Infrastructure, Reliance Communications, and Reliance Commercial Finance. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) also attached assets worth Rs 7,500 crore linked to the group in a separate case. Investigators say loans taken between 2010 and 2012 were misused to repay old debts. A 60-year-old man, identified as Akhtar Hussaini Qutubuddin Ahmed, has been arrested in Mumbai for impersonating a scientist at Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC). Investigators say he and his brother attempted to sell a purported lithium-6 reactor design to Iranian companies under the guise of “research collaboration”. Police recovered fake passports, Aadhaar/PAN cards and a fake BARC ID from Akhtar, who allegedly operated under multiple aliases. Over ten maps and nuclear-related documents were seized from him. The probe is ongoing to trace foreign funds and identify any espionage network links.

At least 11 people were killed and over 20 injured when a local passenger train rammed into a stationary cargo train near Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh on November 4, 2025. Rahul Gandhi claimed that during the 2024 Haryana assembly elections, roughly 25 lakh “fake” votes—about 12 % of the state’s electorate—were cast. The Election Commission of India (ECI) dismissed the claims, pointing out that no appeals were filed challenging the rolls and querying how the Congress leader could link duplicates directly to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). 

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has been served a legal notice by the Kota Consumer Court for endorsing a paan masala brand. The complaint, filed by BJP leader and advocate Inder Mohan Singh Honey, alleges that the ad falsely claims the ₹5 product is “saffron-infused.” He said such ads mislead the public and may influence youth to consume harmful products. “Salman Khan is a role model; he should act responsibly,” the petitioner told ANI. Six people lost their lives after being struck by the Kalka Mail train at Chunar Junction in Uttar Pradesh’s Mirzapur district on Wednesday morning.
