Bibhav Kumar, aide and former personal secretary of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, was arrested on Saturday by Delhi Police following allegations of assault by AAP MP Swati Maliwal. Maliwal accused Kumar of slapping and kicking her at Kejriwal's residence on May 13, leading to injuries. Her complaint resulted in a police case, and her statement was recorded at Tis Hazari court. Bhaibav Kumar filed a counter-complaint, alleging Maliwal's unauthorized entry and intent to create chaos. Delhi minister Atishi accused the BJP of blackmailing Maliwal into participating in a conspiracy against Kejriwal, who recently secured interim bail in a separate case.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that Article 370, which granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir, has been permanently removed and cannot be reinstated. At a rally in Shivaji Park, Mumbai, he criticized the opposition INDIA bloc for promising to reverse this decision, accusing them of exploiting the issue for votes. Modi claimed his government has genuinely upheld the Indian Constitution. He also warned that the INDIA bloc plans to target temple gold, women’s mangalsutras, and introduce a 50% inheritance tax. Additionally, Modi accused the bloc of aligning with Pakistan’s rhetoric and defending terrorist Ajmal Kasab.

Kanhaiya Kumar, Congress' Lok Sabha candidate from North East Delhi, was assaulted by seven to eight people and had black ink thrown at him while campaigning in East Delhi's New Usmanpur. The attackers, who accused Kumar of anti-national slogans and insulting the Indian Army, released videos boasting about their actions. AAP councillor Chhaya Gaurav Sharma, present during the attack, also reported being threatened and assaulted. Delhi Police have begun investigating the incident, verifying viral videos of the attack. Several women, including a journalist, were injured in the assault.

A video showing AAP MP Swati Maliwal arguing with security staff at Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's residence has intensified her feud with the party. Maliwal, who accused Kejriwal’s aide of assault, claimed the video was shared "without context" by political adversaries. The AAP asserted that the footage reveals Maliwal's true intentions. The video captures Maliwal refusing to leave the premises and making derogatory remarks, leading to a heated exchange. Maliwal insists that CCTV footage from inside the house will validate her claims of assault. The incident highlights deepening tensions within the party.              

AAP leader Swati Maliwal has filed a complaint alleging assault by Bibhav Kumar, an aide to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. In response to AAP MP Swati Maliwal's complaint, Delhi Police filed an FIR naming Arvind Kejriwal's personal assistant, Bibhav Kumar, as an accused in the assault case. The FIR, lodged under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, follows Maliwal's statement recorded by a police team. Maliwal, who spoke publicly on the incident, urged BJP to refrain from politicizing it. Delhi BJP Mahila Morcha extended support to Maliwal, emphasizing the need for strict action against the culprits while Maliwal appealed to avoid politicization of the issue.

In an exclusive interview with India Today Group, Prime Minister Narendra Modi provided insights into his plans for the first 125 days if elected for a third consecutive term. He revealed that the initial 25 days would be dedicated exclusively to the youth, underlining their importance. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will launch his campaign for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections with a roadshow in Amritsar on May 16. Kejriwal will support Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal and visit the Golden Temple and Durgiana Mandir. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann stated that AAP aims to be the largest partner in the central government post-June 4, predicting victories for AAP candidates in Punjab, Delhi, Gujarat, Assam, and Kurukshetra. The roadshow will begin at 6 p.m., marking Kejriwal's first visit to Punjab since his release from Tihar Jail.

Senior BJD leader and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik's aide, V K Pandian, announced that Patnaik will take oath for a sixth term on June 9, with a promise of free power supply for 90% of Odisha's population. In a video from their Deogarh visit, Pandian highlighted this initiative and the extension of the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojna to all, including government servants. Patnaik reinforced the pledge. This announcement follows BJP leader Samir Mohanty's call for clarification on BJD's free power promise, accusing the party of misleading the public. The BJD manifesto promises free electricity for households consuming less than 100 units monthly.
