US President Donald Trump said he will “100%” follow through on threats to impose new tariffs if no agreement is reached over Greenland. He declined to comment when asked if the US would use force to take control of the island. Greenland’s prime minister said the territory will not give in to pressure, adding that tariff threats will not change its position. The remarks come after messages from Trump to Norway’s prime minister were released, linking foreign policy to his Nobel Peace Prize criticism. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered a Special Investigation Team probe into the death of Yuvraj Mehta in Noida. The three-member SIT will submit its report within five days, officials said. The team will be led by the ADG of Meerut Zone and include the Meerut divisional commissioner and a senior PWD engineer. Mehta died after his car fell into a water-filled pit on a foggy road in Sector 150 on January 16. An autopsy said death was caused by drowning and cardiac arrest. Security forces on Monday uncovered and destroyed a Jaish-e-Mohammad hideout in the Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said. The underground shelter was located at an altitude of about 12,000 feet in the Singhpora area of Chhatroo. It could house several militants and had multiple entry and exit points. Forces recovered food supplies, cooking gas, blankets and other daily-use items from the site. The action was part of Operation Trashi-I, launched after specific intelligence inputs. Senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday filed the nomination of Nitin Nabin for the post of national president. A 20-year-old woman who was sexually assaulted during the Manipur conflict in May 2023 died at her home in Churachandpur earlier this month, her family said. Her case is still being heard by a special Central Bureau of Investigation court in Guwahati. The family said she had remained unwell since the assault and was under medical care. No immediate cause of death has been confirmed. The assault took place amid ethnic violence in Manipur, which began in May 2023. The deployment is part of Operation Arctic Endurance, a NATO exercise led by Denmark. Officials said the mission is focused on reconnaissance and coordination, not combat. Denmark already maintains about 150 troops in Greenland under its Arctic Command.
