An Indian Air Force Wing Commander was arrested after allegedly sharing sensitive defence information with a woman he met on social media, police sources said. The officer reportedly communicated with her through chats and video calls. She allegedly gained his trust and asked for details about military movements, troop deployments, photos and documents. Investigators also found that he allegedly installed a suspicious app on a fellow officer’s phone. Police said the app could steal data, track locations or intercept communications. The woman was allegedly working for Pakistan-based handlers. A charge sheet was filed in July, and the case is currently before the court.

70-year-old woman was killed in a road accident in Delhi’s Narela area on Saturday morning. The crash happened around 8 am near Himalayas Apartment in Mamurpur. A Mercedes and a WagonR collided head-on. The impact pushed the WagonR backwards into a parked three-wheeler loading van. The woman, identified as Urmila, was caught between the vehicles and died at the spot. The WagonR driver suffered minor injuries and received medical treatment. Police reached the scene and started an investigation. Officers are examining CCTV footage and witness statements to find out how the crash happened. The woman’s body was sent for post-mortem.

The Jharkhand government has launched an email ID to collect feedback from students protesting over alleged irregularities in JPSC-JSSC exams. The move came after a delegation of students met government representatives in Ranchi on Saturday. The protesters are demanding the cancellation of the 14th JPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination held on July 2. They are also seeking wider education reforms. Minister Sudivya Kumar Sonu said students and other stakeholders can send suggestions to JPSSC.feedback@gmail.com. The government plans to use the feedback to prepare a reform policy. Food safety officials found expired milk, rotten vegetables and poor hygiene at several five-star hotels in Bengaluru. The Food Safety and Drug Administration Department inspected 26 three-star and five-star hotels on August 7. Officials found expired dairy and bakery items, meat, fish and vegetables. Some food had fungal growth. Hotels were also found storing vegetarian and non-vegetarian food together and violating labelling rules. At The Lalit Ashok, officials seized 76 kg of meat and 200 kg of vegetables. The Radisson Blu saw the biggest seizure, with 105 kg of expired food products. Officials collected 35 samples for testing.

Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke confronted a Police Sub-Inspector deployed at his Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar residence, accusing the officer of behaving rudely, restricting visitors and seeking his removal from security duty. Dipke, who received police protection following threats and crowd management concerns, alleged the PSI prevented people from entering his home and compared his conduct to the Delhi Police. In videos that went viral, Dipke is seen reprimanding the officer and complaining to a senior police official over the phone. He also claimed plainclothes CID personnel were monitoring his residence and sharing updates in a WhatsApp group named "Hit Spray". Police have not commented.

A newly constructed farm well in Gujarat’s Morbi district has drawn crowds after its water repeatedly surged and fluctuated, triggering speculation about earthquakes and supernatural activity. The unusual movement was reported at farmer Pranjivanbhai Sardiya’s well in Veerparda village after it recently filled to capacity. The turbulence continued on Sunday and Monday, settled on Tuesday, and resumed Wednesday evening. Morbi Collector Swapnil Khare urged people not to spread rumours, citing a preliminary geological assessment that linked the movement to trapped air beneath the water. Punjab's AAP government removed Amritsar Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar and appointed DIG Border Range Harmanbir Singh as his successor, directing Bhullar to report to the DGP's office until further orders.
