The call, received by the Mumbai Police Control Room at 6 pm on Saturday, warned of imminent explosions in the city. Authorities conducted thorough checks following the threat but found nothing suspicious. Police are actively working to trace the caller. In response to the potential danger, Mumbai Police intensified security across the city to ensure the safety of residents and visitors during the festive New Year period.

In Manipur's Kadangband, a volunteer, Jamesbond Ningombam, was killed in a gunfight with unidentified gunmen. Simultaneously, Wangkhemcha Shyamjai, editor of Kangleipaki Meira, got arrested for allegedly publishing provocative news, accused of inciting riots and outraging religious sentiments. His arrest follows claims of "instigating and unverified" news amid the ongoing ethnic conflict. All Manipur Journalists’ Union and Editors Guild Manipur condemned Shyamjai's arrest, demanding his immediate release. The state has witnessed over 200 deaths and displacement due to persistent ethnic violence.

The Sunburn EDM festival in Goa is under scrutiny as Congress and AAP leaders file complaints against organisers, alleging the misuse of Lord Shiva's image. A massive fire erupted at a hand glove manufacturing company in Maharashtra's Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, resulting in the loss of six lives. The blaze broke out at 2:15 am in the Waluj MIDC area, with reports initially suggesting five workers were trapped. Firefighters, responding swiftly, confirmed the unfortunate deaths. The workers, asleep during the fire, faced challenges escaping the engulfed building. The ongoing dousing operation aims to control the flames. The exact cause remains unknown. This marks another recent industrial fire, following Thursday's chemical factory blaze in Navi Mumbai.

Ahead of the grand inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on January 22nd, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged the public not to visit the city on that day to avoid overcrowding. Appealing to devotees, he said the temple will be open for darshan from January 23rd onwards eternally. Instead, PM Modi requested all Indians light a diya at home as the temple is dedicated. He made the remarks while addressing a public meeting in Ayodhya after inaugurating renovated rail and air infrastructure. Modi stated the convergence of development and cultural heritage will propel India forward. The inauguration is set to be a landmark event with devotees eagerly waiting to witness the temple construction.

In Moreh, Manipur, a police convoy faced an ambush by unidentified gunmen around 3:30 pm on Saturday as they headed towards Key Location Point. The attackers utilized IEDs and explosives, resulting in injuries to a police personnel. Security forces swiftly retaliated, and an ongoing gunfight ensued. The injured officer is undergoing treatment at the 5 Assam Rifles camp. This incident follows a recent ambush in Kangpokpi district, where an India Reserve Battalion jawan and a civilian lost their lives. Since May 3, Manipur has witnessed ethnic tensions related to demands for Scheduled Tribe status, leading to heightened security concerns.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a tea break at the house of Meera Manjhi, the 10 croreth beneficiary of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, during his Ayodhya visit. Modi signed an autograph on a Ram temple painting and interacted with locals. Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister, Farooq Abdullah, expressed his congratulations on the completion of the Ayodhya Ram Temple, emphasizing the universal significance of Lord Ram. In a statement to ANI, Abdullah said, "I would like to congratulate everyone who made the effort for the temple. It's ready now." He stressed, "Lord Ram doesn't only belong to Hindus; he belongs to everyone in the world. It's written in the books." Abdullah highlighted Lord Ram's message of brotherhood, love, and unity, urging the nation to revive diminishing brotherhood. The consecration ceremony on January 22 is expected to be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.    

During the inauguration of Maharshi Valmiki Airport in Ayodhya, Prime Minister Narendra Modi issued a heartfelt appeal to devotees, saying, "This is my request with folded hands, don't decide to come to Ram Temple on January 22." He emphasized logistical challenges, adding, "You can come any time after January 23." Modi suggested celebrating January 22 as Diwali across India by stating, "Instead, light a diya at home on January 22. That day should be Diwali across India." The Prime Minister also announced an 8-day cleanliness drive starting January 14, stating, "Lord Ram belongs to the entire country, and now that he is coming, no temple, no matter how small or big, should remain dirty." Ayodhya residents were urged to make the city the cleanest in the country to accommodate future visitors.
