At least 10 people died and 16 were injured when a vehicle carrying 26 passengers fell into a gorge near the Alakananda River on Uttarakhand's Rishikesh-Badrinath Highway. The accident occurred around 11 am on Saturday as the vehicle skidded off the road and plunged approximately 250 meters. Rescue teams have been mobilized, with seven of the injured airlifted to AIIMS Rishikesh and nine admitted to Rudraprayag District Hospital. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has ordered an investigation and expressed condolences, praying for the deceased and wishing a speedy recovery for the injured.
