A stampede at a religious gathering in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, has claimed 116 lives and left over 80 injured. The chaos erupted during a satsang held by Narayan Saakar Hari, known as 'Bhole Baba,' as attendees rushed to follow him when he departed the venue. Bhole Baba, a former police officer turned preacher, is currently untraceable. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered an investigation into the incident and directed swift relief efforts. Overcrowding and frenzied attempts by devotees to gather soil from the event site were cited as primary causes. A probe is underway to determine further details.
