On the second day of the Israel-Hamas conflict, the IDF spokesperson stated the past 24 hours have been extremely difficult with unprecedented events unfolding after Hamas' attack on Saturday. As Israel retaliates and mobilizes reserves for an all-out war on Hamas, spokesperson Richard Hecht likened it to 9/11, saying it was worse than planes crashing into buildings and involved attacking civilians and kidnappings. He described it as Israel's 9/11 and more. Meanwhile, at the UN, Israeli ambassador Gilad Erdan also compared Hamas' offensive to 9/11, condemning the "unprecedented escalation" which has resulted in deaths of over 1000 Israelis.
