A high court judge has ruled that the Tory government's ban on prescribing puberty blockers to children with gender dysphoria in England, Scotland, and Wales is lawful. The emergency order, issued on 29 May following Dr. Hilary Cass's review of gender medicine, temporarily prohibits puberty blockers unless part of an authorized clinical trial. Advocacy group TransActual and an anonymous young person challenged the ban, claiming it lacked proper justification and consultation. However, Mrs. Justice Lang upheld the decision, citing the Cass review's findings of substantial risks associated with puberty blockers as powerful scientific evidence supporting the ban.
