Students at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) have been booked by police for staging a protest march in solidarity with Palestine amid Israel's offensive against Hamas. The unauthorized protest saw slogans and banners expressing support for Palestine and condemnation of Israel in response to the Hamas attacks. An FIR has been filed against five named students and several unidentified participants under charges including promoting enmity between groups and disobeying orders. Aligarh police cited IPC sections 153A, 188 and 505. They are probing inflammatory slogans and statements made during the unauthorized march.
