The Israeli military stated on Tuesday that around 1,500 bodies of Hamas operatives have been discovered near the Gaza border, as Israel continued heavy airstrikes on the Palestinian enclave. A military spokesperson said Israel has "more or less restored control" of the Gaza border area and completed evacuation of border communities after a deadly incursion by Hamas militants on Saturday that killed over 900 Israelis. Israel's airstrikes on Gaza have so far killed at least 687 Palestinians.
