The strike hit their car in Gaza City as they reported from the al-Shati refugee camp. This incident brings the death toll of journalists in the Israel-Hamas conflict, which began last October, to 111, according to the Committee to Protect Journalists. The UN has demanded a thorough investigation and accountability. Al-Jazeera has accused Israel of deliberately targeting its reporters, a charge the Israeli government denies.
