Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has departed Dhaka for a “safer place” amid mounting protests calling for her resignation. According to a source, Hasina and her sister left Ganabhaban, her official residence, due to escalating tensions. The source added, “She wanted to record a speech but could not get an opportunity.” A senior advisor to Hasina stated, “The situation is such that resignation is a possibility, but I don’t know how it will happen.” The army chief is expected to address the nation soon, intensifying speculation about political changes.
