Following last week's violent riots across the UK, several individuals appeared in court. The unrest, triggered by a knife attack in Southport, spread to cities including Liverpool and Manchester. Among the accused were a 14-year-old boy and a 69-year-old welder, both charged with violent disorder. Other notable cases included Derek Drummond, who admitted assaulting a police officer, and two brothers involved in arson at a library. The courts heard that the riots were fueled by misinformation shared by far-right agitators. Many of those charged have been remanded in custody ahead of their sentencing later this month.
