The US State Department expressed deep concern over the escalating violence in Bangladesh, particularly targeting religious and political groups. A spokesperson said, "We are deeply concerned about continued reports of violence in Bangladesh – including violence directed at members of religious or political groups. We are equally concerned about reports of violence against police and law enforcement." This comes amid the crisis following Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's resignation and departure from the country. The Hindu American Foundation reported attacks on Hindu temples and called for the protection of religious minorities. The US has urged for de-escalation and a return to calm.
