BNP leader Salahuddin Ahmed, living in India since 2015, urges the Bangladesh government to drop all charges against former PM Khaleda Zia. Zia, recently released from house arrest, needs advanced medical treatment abroad. Her son Tareue Rehman is also returning to Bangladesh. Ahmed, who served jail time for illegal entry into India, has been free since 2018. He claims the people of Bangladesh believe Sheikh Hasina was forced out due to misrule. The BNP calls for a neutral election and the removal of charges against Zia.
