Former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who fled to India following weeks of violent protests, will return to Bangladesh once the caretaker government decides to hold elections, her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy confirmed. The interim government, led by Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus, was sworn in after nationwide violence resulted in 300 deaths. Hasina's Awami League is absent from the interim government. Currently in a safe house near New Delhi, rumors suggest she may seek asylum in the UK, though British authorities have not commented.
