White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre dismissed allegations that the US played a role in the recent violent protests, which have led to over three hundred deaths. Jean-Pierre emphasized that the future of Bangladesh should be determined by its people, not foreign influence. The protests, initially sparked by a job quota dispute, escalated into widespread anti-government demonstrations. Amidst the turmoil, former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi called for the protection of Bangladesh’s Hindu minority.
