The Victoria Line is now the hottest line on the London Underground, with an average platform temperature of 28.2°C in 2023, according to Transport for London (TfL). Between June and October, temperatures soared above 30°C. In comparison, the Central and Bakerloo lines averaged 26.7°C and 26.0°C, respectively. TfL has worked to mitigate heat by enhancing ventilation, including doubling the capacity of its ventilation shafts on the Victoria Line. Over the past decade, temperatures on the Victoria Line have increased by over 6°C. TfL continues to implement cooling solutions across the network.
