Four-day-old twins Aysal and Aser were killed in an airstrike in Gaza on Tuesday while their father, Mohammed Abu al-Qumsan, was registering their birth certificates. The strike also claimed the lives of their mother, Joumana Arafa, and grandmother. The family had been displaced from northern Gaza and were sheltering in Deir al-Balah. Mohammed returned home to find his family dead. The Israeli military has not commented on the strike. Gaza has been under heavy bombardment since October 7, with thousands of casualties reported.
