The UK government denies any direct Russian oil imports since 2022 but acknowledges that refined products from other countries may include Russian crude. Reports estimate that around 5.2 million barrels of such oil products were imported into the UK in 2023, indirectly supporting Russia's war efforts by increasing demand for its crude oil.
