Russia and Ukraine exchanged 115 prisoners of war each on Saturday in a deal brokered by the United Arab Emirates. The swap came as Kyiv's forces launched an offensive in Russia’s Kursk region and as Moscow looked to capture more towns in eastern Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed the return of soldiers from various military branches, sharing images of men wrapped in Ukrainian flags. Russia’s defence ministry also confirmed the exchange, stating the soldiers were in Belarus receiving "psychological-medical help" before returning to Russia. The UAE, which facilitated the negotiation, announced the successful completion of the exchange.
